Before cleaning the printer or printer platen, be sure to turn off the printer and remove the PC Card Cable from your computer and remove the AC Adapter (MP-21CDX or PA-21MP users only) if connected and make sure that all the LEDs are off.
Open the top cover.
Wipe the printer platen with a cotton swab.
